Microsoft Joins the SRT联盟 to Promote Low Latency Solution
在IBC SRT联盟 announced that Microsoft is the group's newest member, 和 will support the SRT Open Source Project. The alliance now has over 140 members.
The SRT联盟 was created in April 2017 by Haivision 和 Wowza to launch 和 promote an open source version of SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), a low latency video solution created by Haivision. The free open source version is available on GitHub.
Microsoft uses SRT in event production, 和, 前进, will help optimize the technology's video cloud services.
“Having pioneered adaptive streaming for the industry 和 seen the benefits of broad industry adoption we believe in the need for a simple, 可伸缩的, 和 efficient ingest protocol for supporting large scale live events from the cloud,” says Sudheer Sirivara, general manager of the Azure Media 和 AI Platform at Microsoft. “SRT is a proven video transport that lends itself well for cloud-based live workflows. Gaining the support of Microsoft cements SRT as the de facto st和ard for low latency video streaming, says Sylvio Jelovcich, vice president of global alliances at Haivision. Adoption is crucial for an emerging st和ard, 和 Microsoft's support is a huge step for global adoption, 他补充说.
